Alana Pedalino graduated (early!) from the University of Maryland, where she majored in journalism and minored in creative writing. She recorded, edited, hosted and produced podcast episodes and managed the blog for Madcap, a D.C.-based audio company; acted as the deputy managing editor for The Diamondback, the university’s independent student newspaper; reported from the heart of Washington, D.C., with Capital News Service. Alana was also a poetry teaching assistant for the Jiménez-Porter Writers’ House living and learning program at the university. Post-collegiate accolades of Alana's include recognition from 92NY, ACES: The Society for Editing, the MDDC Press Association, the University of Maryland MFA Program in Creative Writing, and the Lannan Fellows Program. As a MarCom professional, Alana has supported top children's publishers Scholastic and Rosen Publishing. She's worked on everything from blogs to AV content to social to brand storytelling landing pages. Two of her IG posts for Scholastic Book Clubs were the most liked and most engaged of 2020 and 2021.
